⛔ Pause Rule

The Pause Rule stops the bleeding before one bad session compounds into account loss. If any trigger below fires, trading stops for the session. No exceptions. No “one more trade.”

What triggers the Pause Rule?

Daily Loss Limit (DLL) reached — Any session where you hit the firm’s full daily loss limit. Stop immediately. No partial recovery trades.

Two consecutive ATM stops — Back-to-back full stops on the ATM bracket. The setup isn’t working today. The session is done.

Risk rule broken — Traded larger than planned, moved a stop, or cancelled a bracket during the trade. Pause Rule fires regardless of outcome.

Revenge trade taken — Entered a trade to “make back” a loss. Intent matters here — be honest. If the reason was the prior loss, it’s a revenge trade.

Three completed trades — Regardless of outcome. Three trades is the session limit. Stop at three, always.

When to use this

Use the Reset Protocol after two consecutive Pause Rule triggers, after a week where your average Repeatability Score drops below 60, or any time your process is breaking down. It’s not punishment — it’s maintenance.

🔄 Reset Protocol

Day 1 — Full stop

No trading. No charts. No planning. Write one sentence explaining what went wrong this week — honestly. Not what the market did. What you did.

Day 2 — Review the week

Pull up your trade scores from Tab 2. Find the lowest-scoring category. That is the one thing you are fixing before returning to live trading.

Days 3–4 — Replay and study

Watch recordings of your worst trades. Identify the exact moment the decision broke. Write it down in one sentence per trade. No trading.

Day 5 — Rewrite your rules

Update your one rule that is broken. One specific, measurable rule change. “I will not enter before 8:00 AM ET” not “I will be more patient.”

Days 6–7 — Sim or micro size

Two sim sessions or minimum contract size. Apply the new rule. Score every trade in Tab 2. Both sessions must score 70+ before returning to full size.

Day 8 — Return to trading

Return at 50% normal size. Run the full Plan tab before the session. First week back: A-grade setups only, maximum 2 trades per session.
